Customers could choose from different engine options, depending on the variant. But all of these engines – whether gasoline and diesel – are dynamic, fuel-efficient and has low emissions. Further boosting the efficiency profile of the BMW X1 are the carmaker’s intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive technology and its BMW Efficient Dynamics like Brake Energy Regeneration, Auto Start Stop, and a gearshift point indicator.
For instance, a BMW X1 sDrive18d with rear-wheel drive offers an average fuel consumption of (EU standard) of 5.2 liters/100 kilometers (or 54.3 mpg imp) and carbon dioxide emission of 136 grams per kilometer.
The BMW X1 also features a suspension technology that comprises a double-joint thrust bar -- an aluminum double-joint tiebar axle at the front and a five-arm rear axle in lightweight steel -- high-precision power steering, high-performance brakes, and Dynamic Stability Control including Dynamic Traction Control. Available as an option is the Performance Control which controls the brakes on certain dynamic driving behavior.
The BMW X1 boasts of a special body structure that has been designed to provide maximum occupant safety. For instance, the vehicle contains standard safety features like three-point inertia-reel seat belts all round, frontal and side airbags as well as head airbags at the side, adaptive Brake Lights and daytime driving lights.
