Lamborghini officially unveiled the Veneno Roadster today, after few leaked photos emerged on the web on Friday. If the Veneno Coupe was produced in a very limited edition of just three units, the Veneno Roadster will see a production run of 9 units, each priced at 3.3 million Euros (excl. tax). Under the hood, we find the same 6.5-liter V12 engine used also by the Aventador Coupe and Roadster, developing 750 hp (552 kW).
As a result, the Veneno Roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 355 km/h or 220 mph. Power is delivered to the road via the extremely fast-shifting ISR transmission with five modes, permanent all-wheel drive and a racing chassis with pushrod suspension and horizontal spring/damper units.
We can’t tell you much about the design as it is the same seen on the coupe version. The only difference: there is no roof, just a strong rollover bar for optimum safety. According to the official press release, the front end of the car acts as a large aerodynamic wing. The adjustable rear wing ensures optimum airflow and interacts with the rear air diffuser.
Moreover, the alloy wheels were designed for aerodynamic functionality as they feature a carbon-fiber ring around the wheel rim that acts like a turbine in order to deliver additional cooling air to the carbon-ceramic brake discs. As you can see from the photos, the roadster comes in an exclusive intense paint color named “Rosso Veneno”.
Still, each customer will be able to individualize his own vehicle to suit his personal preferences. Lamborghini Veneno Roadster uses a monocoque made from carbon-fiber reinforced polymer and all the exterior parts are made from CFRP. The result: a weight of 1,490 kilograms (3,278 pounds). Veneno Roadster benefits from a power-to-weight ratio of just 1.99 kg/hp (4.38 lbs/hp).
