Peugeot Food Truck Concept will sell you sandwiches almost anywhere

Article by Christian Andrei, on April 14, 2015

Early this month, Peugeot presented its version of the food truck during a special preview put together by Paris event venue Le Carreau du Temple. Peugeot stayed true to its goal of delivering high-quality food in an urban setting. The Peugeot Food Truck is compact and has short front and rear overhangs that offer improved manoeuvrability.

Meanwhile, it can handle a substantial load volume with its long wheelbase. By spreading the wings, the food truck can double its width and this provides a space that’s versatile and can be used in various events and surroundings. Aside from areas for food preparation and dining, Le Bistrot du Lion also comes with a DJ booth.

For the unfamiliar, the Peugeot Music brand has launched the new digital music platform that offers web radio and exclusive playlists. The Peugeot Foodtruck comes with all that’s required to feed 30 patrons inside Le Bistrot du Lion. It comes with several standing tables that all have Umbrosa parasols.

Waste is not a problem as the Le Bistrot du Lion is capable of recovering and recycling all waste. The chef can be seen and heard preparing the food via a 46-inch screen and a sound system made by Focal, a company based in France that builds speakers.

The speakers can be used either to transmit live sound such as the sound of food sizzling or music from the Le Bistrot du Lion mix table, which French DJs Adriano and The Reflex eagerly tested.

Peugeot Design Lab went to Euromag, the French food truck expert, to make sure that the Peugeot Food Truck functioned well and complied with all food hygiene regulations and standards.

Any type of cuisine can be offered on this truck since the appliances are multi-functional and its set-up is professional-grade. The truck is equipped with two grilling plates grilling, a deep fryer, and 4 induction burners. Air quality is assured with its ventilation system.

Food is kept fresh with a 400-litre refrigerated under-foot compartment. Drinks stay cold in a 350-litre refrigerator. Coffee is offered via a professional espresso machine by Rocket Espresso. [source: Peugeot]
