Porsche Centre with 26-car showroom opens in Portsmouth, England

Article by Anita Panait, on August 11, 2012

A brand new, state-of-the-art Porsche Centre recently began its operations in Portsmouth to better serve customers in the south coast region of England. The Porsche Centre in Portsmouth, one of the largest in the United Kingdom, signifies a major investment in the Porsche operations and the local region. The two-storey Porsche Centre Portsmouth offers a showroom that could display 26 cars.

It also has a roof-top parking area, an eight ramp workshop and an MOT bay. The showroom’s key feature is a spiral staircase that leads to the first floor display area. Another key feature is the customer specification lounge, where they could personalize their selected vehicle and survey a variety of equipment options using the latest digital software.

The Porsche Centre in Portsmouth occupies nearly two acres and provides a wide-ranging suite of Porsche services including servicing, parts, new and pre-owned Porsche Approved car sales, a service loan fleet and a full range of Porsche demonstrator vehicles.

Visitors at the Porsche Centre in Portsmouth could also take advantage of access to a Direct Dialogue bay, a dedicated area where a vehicle can get immediate, on-the-spot diagnosis by a Porsche-trained Technician before starting any necessary work.

Visitors could avail of Porsche Tequipment personalisation options from floor mats to Aerokits, which can be fitted on their vehicles on-site. Visitors could also visit a showroom display that offers a wide collection of items from the Driver’s Selection by Porsche Design range of clothing and accessories.

The Porsche 911 Carrera underwent a stylistic evolution that is apparent from every angle. When viewed from the side, the car’s new styling, its more convex windscreen, and its larger alloy wheels contribute to an even jauntier and more coupé-like character. New headlights as well as larger side air intakes are also part of the car’s revised, wider front end.

Moreover, the new 911 Carrera's wider and variably extending rear spoiler emphasizes the model’s greater power output and, together with the other aerodynamic optimizations, ensures significantly lower lift and at the same time retains an equally good cd value. And completing the car’s rear profile are LED technology rear lights that have been redesigned and made narrower.

Furthermore, the new Porsche 911 Carrera has set new standards when it comes to Porsche Intelligent Performance. Its lightweight and innovative aluminium-steel body, combined with new components and functions, contributes to its overall efficiency and driving dynamics.

Additionally, the new Porsche 911 Carrera is the world’s first passenger car to feature a 7-speed manual transmission as a standard. This is based on the optional 7-speed Doppelkupplungsgetriebe’s module. The first six gears’ close ratio affords you exceptional acceleration capability, with the attributes of the 7th gear's quasi overdrive offering more scope for fuel economy.

911 Carrera is Porsche’s first sports car equipped with auto start/stop function. This system allows you to save up to 0.6 liter per 100 kilometers based on the NEDC or New European Driving Cycle. This auto stop/start function is paired with the manual transmission and PDK as standard.
