Porsche Pajun: a rival for the Bmw 5-Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Article by Christian Andrei, on March 24, 2011

Porsche has very very big plans and wants to expand its lineup in order to achieve impressive sales. As you may know already, the Porsche Panamera is already a big success but it appears that Porsche wants to create a smaller version of its sedan in order to take on a new segment on the market.

For those who don’t know, the Porsche Panamera is a rival for cars such as the Audi A8, Bmw 7-Series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. What Porsche wants now, is to create a new vehicle, smaller than the Panamera, in order to take on cars such as the Bmw 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Audi A6.

Dubbed Pajun, the new vehicle is already under development, according to German magazine Autobild. The new Porsche Pajun is expected to receive both diesel and petrol engines, as well as a hybrid version.

Expect to see a powerful engine on the Pajun Turbo, delivering up to 560 hp, enough to take on cars such as the Bmw M5 and the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG.

The car is expected to be priced from 60,000 euros or $85,000. Moreover, Autobild says that there will also receive a convertible version, the perfect competitor for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Convertible.

As you may know already, earlier this week we told you that the Porsche Panamera will also receive a convertible version when the second generation will be introduced. P.S. Also read all about the Porsche Cajun a.k.a. firm’s baby SUV which will be build in Leipzig!
