Ram Commercial confirms 2015 Ram ProMaster City for North America

Article by Christian A., on December 3, 2013

The Ram Commercial Truck division will offer an all-new small van for North America – the 2015 Ram ProMaster City. Boosting Ram’s van offering in Ram ProMaster, the 2015 Ram ProMaster City will compete with small commercial and passenger vans. Reid Bigland, President and chief executive of Ram Truck Brand at Chrysler Group LLC, remarked that the Ram ProMaster City further expands the Ram Commercial truck lineup that now includes “everything from vans to pickups to Class Four and Five trucks."

He remarked that as Ram Commercial gains share and increases sales in the market, they will be aggressive in their goal of expanding their commercial vehicle offerings.

He added that their successful relationship with commercial truck maker Fiat Professional provides Ram a competitive advantage by having access to “proven” products and technology that will reverberate with their customers in the United States and Canada. The 2015 Ram ProMaster City is derived from the Fiat Doblo, a two-time International Van of the Year awardee with over 1.3 million units of sales on its wings.

The 2015 Ram ProMaster City, however, will incorporate familiar Ram Truck styling cues and will offer features and powertrains that commercial customers in North America would love.

"Our successful relationship with Fiat Professional, one of the world's foremost commercial truck manufacturers, gives Ram a competitive advantage with access to proven products and technology that will resonate with our U.S. and Canadian customers," added Bigland. [source: Chrysler]
