Ram introduces Pentastar V-6-powered 2014 Ram Cargo Van

Article by Anita Panait, on July 3, 2013

Ram Trucks has unveiled its new 2014 Ram Cargo Van, also known as Ram C/V. The new van boasts of a solid sliding door and rear quarter window. It also features backlight privacy panels instead of sunscreen glass windows. Buyers, however, could choose to have several combinations of solid and glass panels -- including solid or glass backlight – installed on their Ram C/V.

The Ram C/V now boasts of a structural flat aluminum rear load floor – with three flooring options available. One option entails a flat, uninterrupted and high-capacity surface while another optional floor allows through-the-floor access to three exclusive storage bins that provide an additional 11.5 cu. ft. of cargo capacity, and load floor tie-downs.

The third option deletes the load floor to accommodate upfits.  Ram C/V provides a 1,800-lb. payload and category-exclusive towing capability of up to 3,600 lbs. Ram C/V also offers the best-in-class fuel range, thanks to its 20-gallon fuel tank and 26 mpg highway rating.

The van comes with standard electronic stability control (ESC), commercial load-tuned tire-pressure monitoring (TPM), four-wheel anti-lock disc brake system (ABS) and ideal command-of-the road seating – ensuring comfort and capability at the same time.

The 2014 Ram C/V is powered by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine providing 283 hp in output and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, and paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Pentastar V-6 has been named one of Ward’s 10 Best Engines for the past three years and features variable-valve timing (VVT) that carefully balances power and efficiency.
