Renault introduced the Duster Detour Concept at the 2013 Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS) running from 18 - 27 October at the Expo Centre, Nasrec. If you like what you see, you have to know that this vehicle was created by Renault Design Central Europe and a specialised South African design studio based in Johannesburg.
The Duster Detour Concept is described as a Mad Max with a touch of the Terminator plus some Dakar dust’n’ dirt. As you can see from the photos, the Duster Detour Concept comes in a two-tone Pearl Yellow and Matt Grey finish and features tinted windows with black pillar masks and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres and hidden under widened wheel arches.
Regarding its looks, the Duster Detour Concept comes with a custom front grille, new headlamp clusters finished in Pearl Yellow and daytime running lights. The side shows graphics that dominate the vehicle from front to back and new sills.
The rear end is finished in Matt Grey and features a rear roof spoiler, black LED tail lights and double exhausts silencer with rear diffuser enhance. “We’ve had an enormous amount of fun in integrating the key design equipment and eye-catching elements that have gone in to making up the Renault Duster Détour” says Geoffrey Gardiner, Director at Renault Design Central Europe.
