It appears that Japanese carmakers continue to produce the most reliable passenger cars in the world, at least according to consumer data collected by Consumer Reports. CR reports that Scion, Lexus, Acura, Mazda, Honda, Toyota, Infiniti, Subaru and Nissan are among the best brands taking the top nine spots.
That’s right, Scion got the first position, and according to Consumer reports all the 91 Japanese models for which CR had sufficient data, 91% received ratings of Average or Much Better than Average in predicted reliability.
For Ford, things are not quite good as the American manufacturer lost 10 spots from last year and now is on the 20th position. According to CR, three models pulled Ford down and we are talking about the Explorer, Fiesta and Focus, which received below average predicted-reliability ratings.
Ford’s new PowerShift dual-clutch automatic gearbox fitted to the Fiesta and Focus was a factor for FoMoCo’s rating by the MyFord Touch infotainment system also hurt the brand. Despite Ford’s rating, Chrysler and Dodge moved up to 12 and 3 spots, while Jeep got the No. 12 position.
The biggest surprise was Porsche as the brand dropped 25 places after last year was the second-best-rated brand. The main reason for Porsche drop was the redesigned Cayenne SUV.
The second generation Scion tC sports coupe was introduced following the very successful first model. It has premium styling and top of the line features, redefining the segment in order to meet the demands of the sports car enthusiast.
New Scion tC features new styling, technologies and improved performance giving the driver a better experience. It gives tremendous value with increase power, better fuel efficiency and top driving dynamics, as well as more safety features.
Scion vice president Jack Hollis says that the new model has styling that is aggressive and refined, making it attractive to sports car drivers who want to make a daring statement. Hollis also says that when the first Scion tC was launched, it quickly became the carmaker’s best-selling vehicle. What they did was to add a lot of improvements, and priced it reasonably to make it of great value. The new Scion tC will launch the company into a “whole new dimension”, adds Hollis.
More Fuel Savings and Power
New Scion tC has a 2.5-L inline four cylinder engine that gives you the latest light, efficient technology such as the Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence, a variable-induction intake manifold system, and the roller rocker arms.
The new engine gives the Scion tC 180 hp of power, 19 hp more than its predecessor. It also adds 11 lb-ft. of torque. Better performance is also guaranteed with the new intake-manifold design as well as a sport-tuned lightweight exhaust system, both of which give the car an aggressive and daring purr.
