Seat creates Mii Vibora Negra especially for the UK

Article by Christian A., on July 12, 2012

Seat is unveiling the Vibora Negra edition after just a month has passed after the Mii city car started selling in the UK. The Vibora Negra, the Spanish term for black viper, is the ultimate Mii iteration. It comes with a full range of personalization accessories for the model. It also marks the start of a series of planned customization packs.

The Mii already has a stunning appearance but it’s brought to a new level with its new range of visual accessories. The Vibora Negra pack converts the Mii into being one of the most prominent, visually bold and sportiest city cars presently available, lending it the spirit of Seat's most potent FR and Cupra models.

All of these features can each be ordered but there’s a 10% discount when the pack is ordered complete, representing savings of about £160. When VAT and fitting costs are included, the total cost of the Vibora Negra pack is at £1,628 with 14-inch wheels or £1,740 with 15-inch wheels. It could be purchased from franchised Seat dealerships.

According to Malcolm Allison, Aftersales Product Manager for Seat UK, the Vibora Negra pack has all the sportiness of the Mii but at the same time, it reveals the extensive customisation potential of the car. Only UK buyers can get the Vibora Negra pack, which arrived shortly after the Mii FR concept, which was seen at the 2012 Worthersee festival in Austria.

What buyers will be getting when they sign up for the upgrades is a car that has a very similar appearance to the concept. The entry-level S model of the Seat Mii range is priced at £7,845 RRP OTR, which means that a Vibora Negra can be priced for slightly below £9,500.

The complete Vibora Negra pack is compatible with any Mii, from entry level S to range-topping Sport, and comprises: Black Vibora Negra twin stripes (bonnet, roof and tailgate); Black Vibora Negra side stripes; Black 14- or 15-inch alloy wheels; Black tailgate spoiler; Black side skirts; Black mirror caps; Black gloss gear knob; Black chequered dashboard decal.

A proud member of the SEAT family, the Mii is easily recognizable by its distinct, thrusting arrow-like visual impression on its front end, while sleek roof pillars and imposing wheel arches define its profile.

The Mii’s rear end is impressively proportioned, with a head-turning, unique triangular tail light design. With compact dimensions typical for a compact city car, the Mii is 1.64 meters wide, with a wheelbase of 2.42 meters. Its front and rear overhangs are noticeably short while a minimally-sloped rear end results in a surprisingly spacious interior cabin, a clear advantage of the Mii in its category.

Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, the new Head of SEAT Design, proudly stated that the Mii’s design character reflects the spirit and essence of Barcelona, its amazing hometown. He further added that the Mii possesses a contemporary, well-balanced design which is not loud but not too simple either; modern looking but with hints of classic styling. And with just the right amount of precise detailing, it is an excellently designed, sporty and compact vehicle for everyone.

The Mii’s interior cabin is equally impressive too, with its modern design radiating a simple yet appealing functionality. Ergonomically-designed instrumentation and controls are well-placed, while optional colored accent trims may be added to further enhance the interior character. The Mii’s well-designed seats are sporty-looking, with integrated head rests, to give its passengers sufficient comfort, especially during long trips.
