Back in May, the SEAT Leon Cupra 280 was the king of the Nurburgring for a front-wheel drive car as it lapped the well-known German racetrack in just 7 minutes and 58 seconds. However, the Spanish hot hatch lost its crown in June when the Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R posted a time lap of 7 minutes and 54 seconds.
In order to celebrate this achievement, Renault released a limited edition Megane RS Trophy-R. Seat followed Renault and unveiled today the ‘Sub8 Performance Pack’ for the Leon Cupra 280.
The new performance pack brings better brakes, specially-designed 19-inch alloy wheels in black or orange as well as body-coloured side skirts for 2,025 GBP, including VAT. Semi-slick Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres are available for 460 GBP, 540 GBP less than those available on the Megane RS 275 Trophy.
With the new package, the Cupra 280 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.7 seconds, when using the DSG dual-clutch transmission. For those who want even more, SEAT offers the Cupra bucket seats for 1,250 GBP.
The price also includes the Winter Pack which brings heated front seats and headlight washer system with heated front washer nozzles. In addition, SEAT introduced the Cupra Black-Line and White-Line, two new colour exterior packs.
These cost 500 GBP including VAT and include Cupra 19-inch alloy wheels, door mirrors, Cupra tailgate lettering and front grille surround. SEAT is also preparing a new pack called Orange-Line, but this one will be launched in December. [source: SEAT]
