Seat revealed today the Ibiza Cupra Concept, a car that previews the next sporty Ibiza, which promises to combine agile driving fun with a high degree of functionality. According to Seat, the production version of the Ibiza Cupra Concept will arrive by the end of the year and is expected to debut in September, at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The production version is expected to look just like the concept as this is just a test to see customer’s reaction. The Ibiza Cupra Concept is powered by the 1.4-litre TSI four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 180 hp and 250 Nm of torque and mated to the seven-speed DSG transmission with shift paddles.
Power is transmitted to the front wheels. Moreover, the Ibiza Cupra Concept is fitted with the XDS electronic differential lock, high-performance brakes but also the optional SEAT Portable System that combines navigation and entertainment functions.
Regarding the design, the Ibiza Cupra Concept features a new set of stylish headlamps fitted with LED daytime running lights, large fog lamps, a sporty bumper, exterior mirrors painted in gloss black, a rear bumper with integrated air diffuser and central exhaust system.
Moreover, the vehicle features the distinctive Crono Yellow paint finish as well as a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels. The sporty theme is continued also at the interior, where the vehicle features a new sports steering wheel with the Cupra logo and the shift paddles for the DSG transmission, new instruments, leather sports seats with lateral flashes of yellow to match the Cupra exterior as well as a new set of aluminum pedals.
The entertainment system is completely new and features a 5-inch screen is removable for mobile use and yet perfectly integrated into the vehicle’s electronics. Dubbed SEAT Portable System, this will be available as an option for the entire Ibiza family.
