Article by Anita Panait, on July 26, 2013

Czech carmaker Skoda is pleased to introduce its ultimate baby buggy, the ‘vRS Mega Man-Pram.’ The vRS Man-Pram is part of a group of products that came with the launch of the Skoda Octavia vRS. In celebration of the launch of the Octavia vRS, which is considered as the fastest Skoda ever, the carmaker tasked a team of engineers to bring the car’s attributes to other everyday objects.

That task resulted to the creation of the vRS Man-Pram and other objects, which were highlighted in a new ad launching the third-generation Octavia vRS. The vRS Man-Pram has been designed to provide a baby with a fitting transportation experience.

The pram was designed in accordance to a Skoda-commissioned survey of 1,000 fathers. The survey found that around of 76% of the respondents said they would spend more time pushing baby if they had access to a higher spec and more stylish baby buggy.

With the survey in mind, Skoda’s engineers were able to come up with baby carriage that stands two metres high and features wing mirrors, hydraulic suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels. It also features oversized brake callipers, anti-stress grips and a headlamp beam for night-time strolls. The The vRS Man-Pram also boasts of “sports-style upholstery” and “adjustable lumbar support.”

Heidi Cartledge, Head of Marketing at ŠKODA UK comments: ‘The ‘vRS Mega Man-Pram’ proves what you can do when you take the vRS vision off road and drive it straight into the nursery.  We used it in the new Octavia vRS TV ad because we wanted to bring to life the idea of enhancing the performance of everyday objects. The high tech-buggy gives a tongue in cheek sense of what you could experience if you vRS’d your life’. [source: Skoda]
