Slot Mods reveals Limited Edition Replica Car/Tracks

Article by Christian A., on January 3, 2012

Collecting automobile replicas is a hobby that never goes out of style. After the Mercedes-Benz released model cars to commemorate its 125th anniversary, it’s now the turn of Slot Mods replica racing track and cars. With these replicas, fans can reminisce about the golden period of the racing era. There are many car and race track options offered with regards to the body of a RCR 917 replica from the 12 hours of Sebring race in 1971.

This set of fiber-glass replicas appears very real due to its highly precise detailing. Aside from the RCR 917, there are other options like the RCR GT40, RCR P4, and the RCR T70. These were built using fiberglass, wood, aluminum and real tires. Click on some buttons and the car’s body opens to the miniature 1:32 scale race track inside.

This was patterned after the track used in the 1971 edition of ‘12 Hours of Sebring’ race. This 1/32 miniature model uses the same checkered flag, car positioning, race track shape with original markings, as well as the event branding. Its build specifications consist of the 3-piece aluminum original style center locked wheels, race worn tires, working headlights and taillights, wooden slot runway, handcrafted aluminum banners and signs, trees and building structures.
