A special 10th Anniversary Edition Smart Fortwo was unveiled by Smart Canada today in Toronto at the 2009 Canadian International Auto Show which opened Thursday and will continue to the 22nd of this month.

The 10th Anniversary Edition, which is patterned after the Smart Fortwo BRABUS coupe which also showed in the same event, will only have 10 models and each will be hand-crafted at the advanced BRABUS plant in Bottrop, Germany.

The highly exclusive model will come with extremely unique design features consisting of special Artic Grey Metallic pain finish, an interior that has been assembled by hand and is trimmed in Chalet brown leather with grey Alcantara piping and stitching highlights. The special leather likewise covers the door panel, keen pads, gearshift knob, steering wheel and handbrake handle.

The outside of the 10th Anniversary Edition is distinctive with BRABUS monoblock VII wheels, 15-inches at the front and 17-inches at the back and finished in flat black.

A limited edition 10th Anniversary emblem are mounted on the A-pillars and the tailgate. Power under the hood comes from a compact, 3-cylinder 70hp powerplant and highlights the same sport tuned exhaust system and sport chassis intended for the Smart Fortwo BRABUS.

The elegant interior highlights aesthetic velour floor mats with the 10th Edition emblem embroidered on it and numerous other enhancements from the line-topping Smart Fortwo, plus extra dash instruments and brushed aluminum sports pedals.

A truly beautiful way of celebrating its ten years in the industry, in addition to the national contest which smart Canada launched to involve the public in the festivities with one smart fortwo 10th Anniversary Edition cars as the grand prize for the single winner.

The remaining 9 vehicles will be offered for purchase through a reservation raffle that began last February 12. The nine winners will be drawn in random by the end of April 2009 and each will have their vehicles by May 2009.
