SsangYong to present Korando Sports utility pick-up in the UK in autumn

Article by Anita Panait, on August 17, 2012

SsangYong Motor UK’s new Korando Sports utility pick-up will have its introduction this autumn, a year after it was unveiled as the SUT-1 (sport utility) concept at international motor shows in 2011 and months after its production version was displayed at the Geneva Motor show in March. Korando Sports is marketed as a good blend of a passenger car, a double cab and commercial pick-up.

The utility pick-up features the suspension, engine and cabin finesse of a passenger car; the silhouette, rooming and seating for five of a double cab; and the working ability of a commercial pick-up. The new Korando Sports is targeted towards consumers looking for a working vehicle that impresses the practicality of four-wheel drive and the towing capability to haul up to 2.3 tonnes.

The Korando Sports is perfect for any activity, whether as a trailer, a workhorse or even as a family car. According to SsangYong Motors, the new Korando Sports draws on the carmaker’s growing reputation for producing extremely competent off-road vehicles.

The carmaker described the new Korando Sports to be an “honest, reliable and highly capable vehicle” that’s “extremely well equipped,” and could outclass expensive rivals. The Korando Sports is powered by a 2-litre e-XDi active diesel engine that could provide up to 155PS of power and 360Nm of torque between 1,500rpm and 2,800rpm.
