Suzuki is launching sales of its Swift 4x4 this month in the United Kingdom. Swift 4x4 comes to the UK as a five-door 1.2-liter petrol vehicle paired with a manual gearbox. The Swift 4x4 is also equipped as either an SZ3 or SZ4 grade. SZ3 grade of Swift 4x4 appears identical to an equivalent SZ3 five-door except for the 4x4 badging and a slightly increased body ride height of 25mm.
The SZ4 model features a more rugged appearance and boasts of added protection over rough ground, thanks to front and rear skid plates, black wheel arch extensions and black side skirts.
Swift 4x4 boasts of a simple fully automatic and permanent 4-wheel drive system that shifts additional torque to the rear wheels when needed through a viscous coupling. This greatly improves the cornering ability of the Swift.
The Swift 4x4 is perfect for those residing rural areas where slippery surfaces during winter season would require additional mobility. Through the Swift 4x4, one could avail of needed mobility without having to own a larger and more conventional SUV-sized unit.
Swift 4x4 is just 65kg heavier than an equivalent 2WD petrol model, thanks to employment of small and lightweight components. Its carbon dioxide emissions are also only 10g/km higher at 126g/km than an equivalent 2WD petrol model.
Thanks to Suzuki’s extended VAT free offers, the Swift 4x4 could now be availed at £11,516 for SZ3 and £13,116 for the SZ4 model. The SZ4 model features additional equipment as standard like power folding door mirrors with integral indicators and Daylight Running Lamps. [source: Suzuki]
