A new GRMN (GAZOO Racing tuned by MN1) vehicle was introduced by Toyota in Japan, the "Vitz GRMN Turbo" sports conversion model. The new model will be manufactured in a limited edition of just 200 units, each priced at around $28,000 and will be available to customers starting August 25.

Inspired by the Vitz GRMN Concept shown at the 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon, the new sporty three-door hatchback comes with a new bodykit consisting of a new front bumper, larger rocker panel moldings, a contoured GRMN logo on the side of the body and a new rear roof spoiler as well as a redesigned rear bumper with integrated air diffuser and exhaust system.

A new set of 17-inch wheels complete the looks. The new Vitz GRMN Turbo will be available in two colors: Super White II and Black Mica. THe interior continues the sporty theme and features sports seats, a three-spoke steering wheel with red stitching and new instrument gauges.

Under the hood, the 1.5-liter received a new turbocharger which enables it to deliver 152 hp, with 43 hp more than the base Vitz engine. Furthermore, the Vitz GRMN Turbo features a reinforced powertrain, strengthened opposing 4-pot caliper brakes, a high-rigidity body and an exclusively tuned suspension. [source: Toyota]
