Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles offers £299 finance package for Amarok

Article by Anita Panait, on May 28, 2012

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is now providing a finance offer for its Amarok pick-up in the United Kingdom. Under the finance offer, a customer just has to shell out £299 a month, excluding VAT and initial payment. The finance offers also include contract hire or finance lease, as well as PCP Solutions packages, all available at the same rate, either for business or private users.

The offer will last until June 30, 2012. Alex Smith, director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said that the company is delighted to be able to offer low finance rates for the Amarok, which, he noted, has introduced new standards of efficiency and quality to the pick-up market. The Amarok could be acquired at a starting retail price of £17,995, excluding VAT.

Meanwhile, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will start producing the Amarok at Volkswagen's plant in Hanover, Germany. This will improve the supply of the pickup to the UK as well as cut lead times.

The company’s site in Argentina will continue to assemble the Amarok for Latin American and South American markets.

Amarok boasts of having one of the widest cargo areas in its category.  Amarok variants are powered by Volkswagen's 2.0-litre TDI engines that offer 122 PS and 163 PS of power and up to 400 Nm of torque.

The engines also boast of low carbon dioxide emissions at 199 g/km. A buyer could opt to acquire an Amarok that comes with the 4MOTION four-wheel drive, and could choose from three different trim levels.

Volkswagen Amarok clients can choose from three different versions of driveline: rear-wheel drive (4x2), selectable four-wheel drive (both 4MOTION) and permanent all-wheel drive. The permanent all-wheel drive is the entry-level version and caters to clients who are particularly interested in the body's design rather than its functionality. The two all-wheel versions are versatile on all terrains.

The VW Amarok 4MOTION that comes with selectable four-wheel drive and a "4" colored red in the signature is the top choice for trips over hill and dale. It uses a rigid lock for its drive, a function that is practice-proven in the pickup lineup. When it is selected at the push of a button, it gives solid strength to the axles. For the hardest tasks, there is also reduced off-road gearing that makes complex off-road paths easy to drive.

Even 100 percent inclines with a 45-degree angle at full payload are not difficult to cross. Also, the progressively tuned Heavy Duty spring package with two auxiliary and three main spring packs guarantees a high overload safety feature and standard comfort in all load instances.

The Volkswagen Amarok 4MOTION with a "4" that is colored black was launched with permanent all-wheel drive and better comfort. It takes advantage of all-wheel drive for top vehicle dynamics on paved roads as well. Its Torsen differential is unique in its class.

It divides drive forces variably between the rear and front axles; in the standard setting, power is divided 40:60, resulting in high traction and exemplary vehicle dynamics. This system will be offered in Brazil starting at the middle of the year. This all-wheel drive version will be offered to the public on all Euro-5 versions of the VW Amarok.
