Volkswagen do Brasil is introducing the Kombi Last Edition, a special commemorative series of the Kombi, which is considered as one of the most successful Volkswagen models in Brazil. VW will only build 600 examples of the Kombi Last Edition, which will feature exclusive body paint, luxury internal finishing and design elements inspired by many versions produced in Brazil since 1957.
The Kombi Last Edition features a special two-tone white and blue body paint, with each model bearing a numbered identification plaque on the dashboard. It will also feature special design details like whitewall tires, white centre wheel caps and tinted rear windows.
The upper section of the vehicle’s front grille, headlights and indicator rims carry the same color the exterior. The vehicle’s front indicator lights also feature white crystal lenses. The vehicle also features decals that identify the special series: ‘56 anos - Kombi Last Edition.’
The interior of the Volkswagen Kombi Last Edition features distinctive blue fabric curtains in the side. Its rear windows and curtain fasteners don the ‘Kombi’ logo, which is a feature typical of the model’s top versions from the 1960s and 70s. The special vinyl upholstery seats features sides in Atlanta Blue and a matching two-tone centre (blue and white).
The vehicle’s internal side, door and cargo panels are also upholstered in Atlanta Blue vinyl and are finished with decorative stitching. The instrument cluster gets a special serigraph treatment and keeps the traditional Kombi design that has the speedometer at the center and fuel gauge on the right. The Kombi Last Edition is powered by the EA111 1.4-litre engine that provides up to 78 PS for petrol or 80 PS for ethanol. The engine is paired to a four-speed manual transmission.
