Volkswagen is releasing a Polo limited premium special edition model – the “Original” version – as a tribute to the first Polo unveiled by the German carmaker. Interested buyers, fans and enthusiasts could claim ownership to one of just 1,000 Polo Original models to be sold in Germany.

Setting apart the four-door Polo Original from others are its door mirror caps in body color, smoked rear lights, and the Polo "Original" emblem on the wings as well as "Original" lettering on the door sill plates. Completing the limited edition’s “Original” looks are LED headlights, a high-gloss black radiator grille and 16-inch "Portago" alloy wheels.

Some of the 1,000 limited edition cars are available with exclusive Honey Orange Metallic paintwork. Moving inside, buyers can find a multifunction steering wheel, a gear lever knob and handbrake grip in leather with "Truffle" colored stitching.

The limited edition models feature black/orange sports seats with a tartan design, faux leather side bolsters and headrests. Also visible are special paintwork accents and pedals with an aluminum look.

Standard technical features include Climatronic climate control system, a hands-free unit and the MEDIA-IN multimedia socket, as well as the Front Assist ambient traffic monitoring system with the City Emergency Braking feature.

Also installed as standard are the Rear View reversing camera which allows a driver to see what is behind the vehicle on the radio/navigation system screen. The Polo Original is available in six engine-gearbox variants. It has a starting price of €19,950, which means a discount of €1,119 when compared to a similarly equipped production model.
