World’s famous store Harrods showcases MINI Inspired by Goodwood

Article by Christian A., on April 17, 2012

Harrods -- the most renowned store in the world -- is displaying a sample of the MINI Inspired by Goodwood at a prime location in order to celebrate the delivery of the first customer vehicles. The MINI is inspired by Rolls Royce Motor Cars' design team. It forms part of a specially created window display and is seen from inside the store.

The display window showcases gates and a beautiful manor, giving a characteristic British backdrop to display the MINI. Inside the Knightsbridge store, information on the vehicle is provided by the display screens, with a range of samples and swatches of the luxury interior trims utilized in the cabin. A representative from MINI's flagship Park Lane outlet will be available to answer customers' queries or place orders.

Emphasizing the limited edition and exclusive nature of this MINI, the pavement outside the window will display a projected MINI logo with the words "1 of 1000" each night. The entire display started on April 8 and will run for two weeks.

The MINI Inspired by Goodwood was announced during the Shanghai Motor Show last April. It combines the unparalleled character and fun of MINI with the remarkable quality of materials and tailored workmanship offered as standard with any Rolls-Royce Motor Car.

The exclusive Rolls-Royce color Cornsilk provides the finishing touches for the dashboard, air vents, centre console, heated leather seats, carpets, doors, interior cladding and roof lining. The door handle surfaces and dashboard are of Walnut Burr, which is a luxury wood trim customized to Rolls-Royce. The sun visors, rear storage tray and roof linings are all made of premium cashmere.

Deep-pile lambs wool is utilized to create the floor mats. The MINI is run by the famous l.6-liter 135 kW/184 hp four-cylinder petrol powerplant with Twin Scroll turbocharger, variable valve control and direct petrol injection. This engine also runs the MINI Cooper S. It is the most efficient powerplant in its displacement class.
