There are reports stating that the top brass of Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co. is due to have a conference with the officials of GM this week to brainstorm its intentions for Opel, in case the deal with Magna International fail to push through. The Chinese firm's officials are said to be flying in to the Zurich European headquarters of GM for the said meeting, a demonstration that the Chinese firm has not given its plan to acquire Opel-Vauxhall. Although the German government will give audience to all parties interested in bidding for Opel, they will give first priority to Magna International, however. Reports are also saying that Fiat is still interested in Opel with no less than the Italian prime minister confirming that Fiat's offer for Opel-Vauxhall is still on the negotiating table.
