Ben Collins is not The Stig! Says BBC!

The Stig - Top GearThere have been some confusing mysteries surrounding the identity of the test driver of the most famous motoring program in the world ‚ BBC's Top Gear ‚ which is dependent on a hired driver to try the world's best supercars. The driver's identity has been a well-kept secret for the show, that is, until this week. It was previously reported that the driver, which is usually dressed in a white racing suit and helmet, was Ben Collins, a race driver of Bristol, UK. In the unfolding events, however, it was confirmed by BBC that the hired hand is Graham Hill, the 80-year old father of F1 World Champion Damon Hill. Confusion further ensued as reports came in that Hill was actually killed in a plane crash in 1975. A previous test driver, known as the Black Stig which came before the white-suited version, was removed from the show when his identity was unveiled as the former British F1 driver Perry McCarthy. If the current stig will face the same fate, is not certainly known.
