Bentley Continental Supersports making U.S. debut in summer of 2010

Bentley Motors' promise of a green vehicle that would have flex-fuel capability will be delayed. Many were disappointed with this news since Bentley had been touting that its fastest and most powerful model ever will make its debut soon. The 2010 Continental Supersports car is estimated to be priced at $267,000 and will have 12 cylinders, 621 horsepower and boast a top speed of 204 mph. The 2010 Supersports was also intended to be the first model capable of running on bio-fuels like E85. However, Bentley encountered several setbacks and so the first Supersports to hit our shores will only run on gasoline.
Bentley representatives confirmed that various U.S. homologation red-tape and engineering challenges, such as the fitment of hardened valve seats, mean that the first 200 Supersports to arrive will not have the promised flex-fuel capability. Bentley assures though that subsequent Supersports will be capable of running on bio-fuel.
The car, introduced at this year's Geneva Auto Show, is the performance flagship for the Bentley Continental range. After taking off 243 lbs from the Continental's substantial curb-weight, Bentley engineers tuned the twin-turbocharged W-12 motor to produce 621-hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.
