A Bentley dealer based in Exeter has been put into receivership after running out of cash as the credit crunch begins to have an effect on retailers of high-end products. Bentley West Country discontinued business this week after failure to sell new cars. Andrew Sheridan of joint receiver Baker Tilly said that the dealer failed to sell any new car in three months and that resulted in its cash depletion. Andrew Sheridan of joint receiver Baker Tilly said that the dealer failed to sell any new car in three months and that resulted in its cash depletion. "In the last three months, plummeting second hand values of luxury cars, combined with a drying up of inquiries for new vehicles, has caused Bentley West Country to run out of cash.
Unfortunately, it has ceased trading with the loss of all 19 jobs, Tilly said. All the fixtures and fittings of the showroom have been removed including all the cars. Now, the closest Bentley dealer to the southwest of England is Bentley Cardiff.
