Bentley planning 1000 vehicles in annual China sales by 2014

China has overtaken Japan and Germany to become firm's third-largest market in 2009, according to Zheng Shunjing, director of Bentley's Chinese operations. Reportedly, Bentley China has a longer-term plan to make a breakthrough of 1000 vehicles in annual China sales by 2014. To achieve this goal, Bentley plans to import several new products to China. This includes its latest flagship model Mulsanne that was displayed at the recent Beijing auto show, the two special models designed for the Chinese market,

the Continental GT Ultimate series, the Continental Flying Spur Speed China special edition and Bentley's fastest environment-friendly Continental Supersports Convertible model. Bentley China also has plans to add to its existing 9 dealerships. In five years, it wants to have 24 dealerships.

The new dealerships for this year will be in Kunming, Tianjin, Xiamen and Shenyang city. In 2011, about 80% of the Bentley cars will be burning biofuels. By 2012, all Bentley cars will be using more environmentally-friendly, low-carbon and energy-efficient biofuels.
