Bentley is sure to produce an SUV based on the EXP 9F Concept, according to Bentley Motors’ regional general manager in the U.S., Rodney Moore, who said that this is a “foregone conclusion.” The concept made its debut in North America at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The unibody SUV was first presented at the Geneva auto show last March. Moore said that the customers at the Pebble Beach event where Bentley usually takes orders from for the coming model year were curious about the vehicle. Last month, a UK newspaper said that Bentley informed workers at its Crewe, England, plant that SUV production will be added there, ensuring jobs at the plant for 14 years. In early 2012, Bentley CEO Wolfgang Duerheimer informed Automotive News Europe that if this would be permitted, the annual sales of the SUV could reach 3,500 to 5,000. This is significant for a brand that only reported sales of 7,003 cars last year.
