Bertone, an Italian engineering and design company, is in discussions with a Chinese automobile collector who wants to purchase the firm's one-off Nuccio supercar. Automotive News Europe cited Bertone CEO Marco Filippa as saying that they are in "close negotiations" with the collector. It took around 15,000 hours for the Nuccio to be designed, engineered and manufactured, according to Filippa. It was named after Giuseppe "Nuccio" Bertone, who is the son of the company founder Giovanni. Filippa further disclosed that the asking price for the supercar is around 2 million euros. The model was built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company. The Nuccio was revealed as a full-sized styling prototype in March at the Geneva car show. It was transformed into a road-ready model in time to be displayed at the Beijing car show. Bertone intends to complete the sale of the vehicle after displaying it in August at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, in Monterrey, California. The company's design boss Mike Robinson took inspiration for the mid-engine Nuccio from the popular 1970 Lancia Stratos Zero concept. The Nuccio has innovations like a tensile steel roof which provides high structural resistance at a low weight.
