The theme “Driving Experience” is the inspiration for the BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo Concept, a Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS). BMW is not bound by the conventional way of designating their cars. The BMW X6, for instance, is called an SAV (Sport Activity Vehicle) rather than an SUV.

Since this is a PAS it entails the presence of a combination of elements, such as a luxury sedan-level sophistication and comfort of the 7-Series harmonized by the athletic, outdoor characteristics of the X6. Since it is still a concept, the discussion centers around style and design rather than on power plants and transmissions. It is a 4-door, 4-seat coupe, a recently fashionable design. Luggage space, however, can be extended to 1,650 liters when the rear seats are folded down when necessary. A feeling of openness on the road is offered by the Panorama glass roof.
