Bmw announces a more potent variant of its famous 3.0L twin-turbocharged engine
It was confirmed by the Bavarian automaker BMW, that it will be coming out with a newly developed and more potent variant of its famous 3.0L twin-turbocharged straight-six diesel powerplant that will be capable of 306hp which it attains at 4400rpm and top torque of 600Nm (442lb-ft) attained at 1500rpm.
The new version will replace the 3.0L inline-six diesel currently found in the 735d, 335d, X5 35d, and others, that generates only 286hp at 4400 and 580Nm (428lb-ft) at 1750rpm. BMW claims that even though the new powerplant is more potent than the previous version, it will come with about 4 percent lower fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. The new 3.0L TwinPower Turbo diesel will be received first by the 735d model later this year and to be quickly followed by other models thereafter.
