Bmw confirms development of an M version based on the 1-Series Coupe

What seemed to be just a rumor the other days, it now becomes official: Bmw's M division has started the development of an M version based on the 1-Series Coupe! According to our sources, the decision to build this vehicle was apparently taken due to an "overwhelmingly positive reaction" to recent customer clinics. The new vehicle will be a direct rival to the Audi RS3 and it will slot into the range beneath the M3 Coupe and the 135i Coupe M Sport. The new vehicle will be equipped with a twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine producing around 350hp and aims to attract younger customers to Bmw's sports cars because it will be the most affordable model from the M division.
