Production of BMW’s 1-Series Coupe and Convertible has ended. BMW made no announcements but we learned today that the 1-Series Convertible was discontinued in June, while the last 1-Series Coupe was phased out in August. These models are set to be replaced by a 2-Series Coupe and Convertible. It’s expected that the Coupe will start selling this March while the Convertible will go on sale shortly after.
Some information about the models has leaked. We learned that the models will be available with at least three different engines. These include a 2.0-liter petrol with 183 HP (135 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque; a 2.0-liter diesel with 183 HP (135 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque; and a 3.0-liter inline-six with 326 HP (240 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. The M235i is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and of reaching a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). [source: BMW]
