According to the best Bmw source a.k.a. Scott26 we found out today more detail regarding the upcoming M1 sports car. Although it will be based on the standard 1-Series, it appears that this new car will feature a more muscular appearance especially at the front which, receiving a trapezoid grille flanked by two intakes to allow air to cool the six piston brakes. The larger grille at the front of the vehicle will help the high performance intercooler to receive more air. The new aluminum bonnet will incorporate a hood bulge again to hint at the power underneath and will be flanked by two airducts at each side with one for design symmetry. The front wings will also be wider in order to accommodate the standard 18" 5 spoke wheels with optional 18" Competition wheels. The new fenders will incorporate the typical M characteristic of a side vent, like any other M car from Bmw. The new M1 will feature the classic "Ducktail", marking a return of the legendary spoiler for a more cohesive look and additional aid for aerodynamics. Like the M3, the M1 will also receive a reinforced carbon fiber roof.
