The first spy photos of the new BMW M6 Gran Coupe have now been released! The spy pictures bare the four-door Gran Coupe’s muscular exterior, which shows the trademark M quad exhausts. The pictures also show the Gran Coupe’s large black twin five spoke alloys, which might be hiding possibly carbon ceramic brake discs. The car’s styling seems to be more aggressive than the 6-series Gran Coupe donor car, which sports an M body kit with a new front bumper, wider sills and a rear diffuser.
The M6 Gran Coupe is powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine with an output of 552bhp and a torque of 501lb/ft. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. The M6 could accelerate from zero to 62mph in less than 4.5 seconds and could reach a top speed of up to 155mph.
The M6 Gran Coupe is a lower and more focused variant of the M5, with a lower roofline and a more slippery silhouette. The lower body design results to a lower center of gravity. BMW will unveil the 6-series Gran Coupe around six months from now and will launch the M6 four-door version in 2013. BMW will unveil the two-door M6 this year. The M6 is touted to rival Mercedes’ CLS63 AMG, which is run by a twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8 engine resulting in an output of 518bhp and a torque of 516lb ft.
