Bmw planning eco-friendly supercar

Big car producers are developing more and more on the green cars segment, high technologies and lightweight concepts. Bmw plans to finalize a new eco-friendly supercar by 2010 and it will be designed as a very sporty car which will directly compete the R8 of Audi and the upcoming SLC of Mercedes-Benz. Since it aims to be a green vehicle, the upcoming model will feature fuel saving technologies like direct injection, brake regeneration and stop/start system. The supercar will be get an updated version of Bmw's 3.0-liter engine and will assure a fuel and CO2 emissions savings of a mid-range 5 series. There are some rumors saying that the new model will be based on the modern M1.
