Bmw launched today a new website, dubbed dontblogaboutthis.com. which reveals a new hybrid prototype bases on the currently 6-Series Coupe. The car is part of Bmw’s EfficientDynamics programme and it is based on the Bmw Vision EfficientDynamics Concept revealed by the manufacturer back in 2009. As you can see from the photos, the car has the rear end as the 6-Series but the front is completely changed, inspired by the same concept unveiled at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Furthermore, the car features widened tracks as well as low rolling resistance tires on new aerodynamically optimized wheels.
Unfortunately there are no details available regarding this as the Bavarian manufacturer wanted just to tease us. Regarding the concept, for those who don’t know, it was powered by a three-cylinder turbodiesel and two electric motors and the total output is 262 kW/356 hp as well as a maximum torque of 800 Newton-metres/590 lb-ft.
The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) was made in just 4.8 seconds while the top speed achieved was electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). Fuel consumption is impressive: 3.76 litres/100 km (equal to 75.1 mph imp), CO2 emissions 99 grams/kilometer. The impressive performances are also available due to the drag coefficient optimised to just 0.22.
