Bmw to leave the F1 Championship at the end of this season

This Formula One season will be BMW's last. Dr. Norbert Reithofer, chairman of the BMW board, said the decision was arrived at after a refining of the company's future strategy. He added that BMW's premium will be defined in terms of sustainability and environmental compatibility. After reviewing all projects and initiatives to check for future viability and sustainability, BMW concluded that the Formula One campaign is "less a key promoter" for the company. He said that the decision was a difficult one but that it was a resolute step in view of its strategic realignment.
