A 50% rise in sales has been recorded by Bmw's M division for the year. The performance arm of Bmw, M GmbH, sold 22,340 units internationally from November 2007 to November 2008, compared to last year's only 14,092 units. Although sales for many carmakers have been on a downturn, the M Sport division is foreseeing its most flourishing year in its 30-year long history. Global sales were increased by the coming of the Bmw M3, selling almost double as many vehicles in the initial year like its predecessor courtesy of the addition of the Bmw M3 Convertible and M3 Saloon.
