Bmw’s Project i will include two, three and four wheel cars

The partnership between BMW and the University of Bath back in 2007 has resulted in a new vehicle designated the Compact Low Emission Vehicle for Urban Transportation (Clever). The car comes with only three wheels and a power unit that runs on compressed natural gas which emits carbon half of the regular economy vehicles. There could be a future production model for BMW in this design, especially under its Project i program, which aims at seeking new means of creating sustainable mobility. The current Clever design will only be one among numerous design configurations involving from two to four wheeled transports (this fact was revealed by us back in March here). It seems that it will take a while for BMW to come up with a totally electric lineup. Insiders say that it could take at least five more years until the streets can see a production model. Meanwhile, the German carmaker may be left without a choice but to utilize its motorcycle division to come up with an ideal powerplant for its Project i program. [via autoblog]
