The tuning specialists at Brabus have introduced the BRABUS WIDESTAR -- a wide-body version of the Mercedes SLS AMG. Modifications include the addition of a carbon-fiber body kit which includes a front spoiler, rear spoiler, rear diffuser. The vehicle also receives wide body paneling for the fenders featuring air dams and side outlets. The vehicle gets wider at the back by 20 mm due to the extra girth. This permits the Brabus SLS AMG to be given lightweight forged wheels -- BRABUS Monoblock F PLATINUM EDITION in 9.5Jx20 (front) and 11Jx21 (rear) dimensions. The tires available are Pirelli or Yokohama in 275/30 ZR 20 and 295/25 ZR 21. What’s awesome is that this new set of wheels is offered in a brushed-design or ceramics-polished surface and can be ordered in any color.
The tuning package also includes an electronically adjustable suspension kit from Bilstein featuring Ride Control and stiffer sway bars for the front and rear axles. The Bilstein kit enables the SLS AMG to be lowered by as much as 30 mm. Brabus put in its own titanium performance exhaust system, weighing only 12 kg (40% less than the production exhaust). It also enhances output by 10 PS (7.4 kW).
It features four slanted exhaust tips and sound management for the 6.2 liter V8. When it comes to the interior, Brabus offers carbon-fiber inlays in different colors as well as matte anodized aluminum pedals and foot rest. The new sport steering wheel is lined with a combination of Alcantara and leather. Brabus added a 400 km/h (250 mph) speedometer. The vehicle also received a final upholstery finish in leather and Alcantara.
