Although few people saw this coming, it appears that Aston Martin took the decision to sell the Cygnet minicar in the United States. Based on the Toyota iQ, the new Cygnet will make its debut in the United States in 2012 and will be powered by a 1.3-liter gasoline engine, while an electric version with a maximum range of 60 miles will be introduced later in 2013.
Apparently the production of the Aston Martin Cygnet looks like this: Toyota will deliver iQ minicars to to Aston Martin's Gaydon, England, plant.
In England, the interior of the cars will be upgraded, but no mechanical changes are currently planned. Regarding the price, it appears that the Cygnet will carry a price tag of around $35,000.
A car like the small Aston Martin will be a brilliant choice for people living in congested Manhattan and for the freeway commutes in cities such as Los Angeles, Seattle and Miami.
