Breaking: Electric Bmw 1-Series in the works

Since we were speaking with our German sources regarding the Vw Tiguan Facelift, we decided to find out what Bmw is currently working on and what do you know, our sources told us some interesting things: the Bavarian manufacturer is currently working on an all-electric version of the small 1-Series, which apparently will use the same technology found on the Mini E. This means that the new 1-Series EV will use a lithium-ion battery pack but in this case, the rear seats will be kept (If you remember the Mini E was delivered without the rear seats due to the battery pack). Also, the new electric vehicle will be leased, not sold because Bmw wants to test its vehicles before starting producing it at a larger scale.
