These spy pics of the Lexus IS-F Evolution are very exciting considering that it's near the end of its 150kg weight loss program. Reports have come out previously about the hood, roof, front and rear fenders/bumpers and trunk lid being made of carbon fiber to drop up to 150KG in weight. These pics confirm the addition of a rear wing and highly supportive carbon backed Recaro seats. Also confirmed previously are a proper Torsen LSD and revised suspension to offer a firmer ride over standard.
These pics could even already be showing the production ready examples of the BBS alloy wheels to be included in the IS-F Evolution package. It's been reported that the development code name for the IS-F Evolution is 182A. Many are speculating that since the code name is similar to the Toyota/Subaru '086' compact sports car that they would have similar designations.
Japan's New Model Magazine X believes that locally delivered examples of the 'IS-R' (a working title for the car) or 182A will include a Nissan GT-R-like GPS activated speed limiter cut when the car is in the vicinity of a circuit. But it appears this feature will apply to Japanese models and not for export versions. The 182A IS-F Evolution is expected to go on sale in August 2010 at a price between 12,000,000 and 15,000,000 JPY (US$128,000 - 160,000) debunking shocking rumors of a US$250,000 price tag.
