Breaking News: Ferrari to quit F1

It was made public by Ferrari that it will not join the world championship next year if the voluntary €44 million budget cap remains in force. The team was initially reserved about its views concerning the revisions in the rules and governing procedures for 2010, but finally made an open statement after a meeting of the board at Maranello last Tuesday. The statement said that Ferrari will not join the next F1 World Championship unless the same rules apply for all teams without exception, there is stability of regulations, there is a continuity of FOTA's efforts to systematically and increasingly cut costs, and governance of F1. Ferrari considers these points as indispensable principles that must be respected.
