Breaking: Upcoming baby SLS AMG will go hybrid

It is not a secret that Mercedes-Benz is working on a new sports car, smaller than the recently launched SLS AMG, which will take on the Audi R8. What you didn’t know, is that the new car is going to be a hybrid and will use some of the technology found on the upcoming SLS AMG eDrive a.k.a. an electric version of the new sports car. The SLS AMG eDrive will carry four electric motors which will develop a total output of 392 kW (525 hp) and a maximum torque of 880 Nm. The car will have an estimated range of 180 km (112 miles). It is expected that the new sub-SLS hybrid sports car will carry two electric motors as well as a smaller V6 engine, enough we’d say to take on high performance sports cars.[via autobild]
