Here are the latest pictures released by Ford of the new S-MAX and Galaxy while they interact with the real world. These two models, which were first shown at the 2010 Brussels Show, will go on sale in European markets in the upcoming months. In a release, John Fleming, Ford of Europe CEO said that the S-MAX and Galaxy are the first European Ford models to benefit from its global EcoBoost family of direct-injection, turbocharged, petrol engines. They are expected to deliver more power and performance from a lower displacement powerplant, but still have impressive fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. Ford's new Ecoboost engine is said to bring a significant cut in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The 2.0l engine configuration is able to produce a maximum power of 203 ps and it is seen to join the existing 2.0l Duratorq TDCi diesel with either 140 or 163 horsepower available. Ford's PowerShift double wet-clutch transmission system is now available for the first time on Ford's large car range and is offered as standard for the EcoBoost petrol engine and option for diesel configurations.
