It’s not a secret anymore that Bugatti is planning to build a luxury sedan that will be powered by the same impressive engine found on the Veyron, the fastest production car found on the market. What is more interesting, is that the new car will be based on the Audi A8, according to German newspaper Spiegel. As we said, the new car will borrow the same engine from the Bugatti Veyron supercar, which means that we will see the an impressive 8.0-liter W16 engine capable to deliver 1001 hp, and has a top speed of over 400 km/h.
The bad news is that the so-called Bugatti Galibier will not receive the same amount of power, because it is a sedan and will be much heavier – it will receive ‘only’ 800 hp. Still, for those who don’t know, the same engine delivers an impressive 1200 hp (882 kW) and a maximum torque of 1,500 Nm of torque in the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport.
Currently, the Veyron SuperSport is the fastest production car on the market with an average speed of 431 km/h (268 mph). The bad news is that the production version of the Super Sport has an electronically limited speed of 415 km, in order to protect the tires.
