As we told you here, Bugatti unveiled its most powerful roadster of all time: the Grand Sport Vitesse. Set to make its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next month, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse comes with the same 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbocharged engine delivering an impressive 1,200 hp, with almost 200 hp more than the standard Grand Sport. In addition, the Grand Sport Vitesse delivers 1,500 Nm of torque, with 250 Nm more than the Grand Sport. According to the French manufacturer, the increased power was obtained thanks to four enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers.

Moreover, the chassis of the car was also modified in order to support the added power. Regarding the design, the Grand Sport Vitesse is inspired by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and features a new front bumper, new side sills as well as the same exhaust system found on the Super Sport. For those who don’t know, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport holds the current world speed record of 431 km/h.

“The rapid success of the Super Sport convinced us to increase the performance of the Bugatti roadster. Once again our engineers worked hard to demonstrate that Bugatti is able to constantly redefine the boundaries of what is technically feasible,” reveals Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer. “We gave our all to transfer the achievements of the Super Sport over to the Grand Sport, thereby turning open-top driving itself into an extraordinary experience at high speed.”
