Bugatti Veyron is the least fuel-efficient car, according to EPA

With mileage figures of 51 mpg (4.61 l/100km) city and 48 mpg (4.9 l/100km) highway, the 2011 Toyota Prius has been named as the most fuel efficient car in the country by no les than the US Environment Protection Agency. With this pronouncement, EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson is hoping that this will serve as a guide for consumers to make the right choice for the environment and for their own economic gain.
For a more informed choice, the EPA also divulged that the least fuel-efficient car is the Veyron, Bugatti's topselling model that achieved 8 mpg (29.4 liters/100 km) in city driving and 15 mpg (15.5 liters/100 km) on the highway. Coming in second place for the list of good buys include the 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid FWD, the 2011 Mercury Milan Hybrid FWD and the 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid FWD that have fuel consumption figures of 41 mpg (5.7 l/100km) city and 36 mpg (6.5 l/100km) highway.
These are trailed by the 2011 Honda Civic Hybrid and the 2011 Honda Insight Hybrid, that have a mileage of 40 mpg (5.8 l/100km) city and 43 mpg (5.4 l/100km) highway. Jackson added that boosting fuel efficiency is “important for our environment, our economy and our health.”
